Enjoy traditional treats, discover handmade crafts, and hear stories and fun facts about German Christmas traditions as you explore Berlin’s festive markets.

Join us on a festive journey through Berlin’s most iconic Christmas markets and historic landmarks. This atmospheric walking tour immerses you in the cozy glow of Berlin’s winter charm and offers the perfect introduction to the city’s holiday traditions, complete with insider tips to help you make the most of your seasonal stay.

We begin our Christmas adventure in front of Starbucks at Hackescher Markt, a lively square surrounded by cafés and boutiques and the perfect place to grab a warm drink before we set off. Just a few steps away is the famous Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas shop, which is well worth a quick visit for its dazzling traditional ornaments and handcrafted decorations.

Our first official stop is the impressive Humboldt Forum in the reconstructed Berlin City Palace, where a charming hidden winter market awaits. With twinkling lights and a fairytale backdrop, this is the ideal place for your first festive photo.

As we continue, we’ll pass several of Berlin’s most recognisable landmarks, including the TV Tower, Alexanderplatz, Neptunbrunnen and the Rotes Rathaus (Red Town Hall). At the heart of this area you’ll find one of the city’s most vibrant Christmas markets, complete with a giant Ferris wheel, an ice-skating rink and a lively holiday atmosphere framed by the historic skyline.

From there, we make our way into the enchanting Nikolaiviertel, the cradle of Berlin. With its medieval-style houses, narrow cobblestone streets, and intimate Christmas market, it feels like stepping into a snow globe. Here your guide will share fascinating stories about Berlin’s origins, German holiday traditions, and a few quirky seasonal facts. To warm your hands (and your heart), you’ll enjoy an included cup of hot mulled wine, with a non-alcoholic alternative available if you prefer.

Our festive finale brings us to the stunning Gendarmenmarkt, often considered one of Berlin’s most beautiful Christmas markets. Elegant white tents, sparkling lights, and the impressive architectural surroundings make it a true holiday highlight. After your guide’s introduction, you’re welcome to explore at your own pace (the €2 entry fee is not included), whether browsing handcrafted goods, trying seasonal treats, or enjoying another Glühwein.

This tour is much more than a scenic winter walk. It gives you an overview of four unique Christmas markets, expert local guidance, great photo opportunities, and engaging historical insights, so you can experience the magic of Berlin’s holiday season like a true Berliner.
